One-day-international (ODI) is one of the formats in cricket with a limited number of overs. Played between two international teams, each team faces 50 overs lasting up to 9 hours. ODIs are played as a series of 3 to 5 matches. 

The first ODI: On 5 January 1971, between Australia and England at the Melbourne Cricket Stadium, the First ODI was played.

Most Hundred in ODI career by Individual 

Sachin Tendulkar holds the record for most centuries in ODI (One-day-international), scoring 49 centuries. He played in 463 games and 452 innings, scoring 18426 runs, including 2016 fours and 195 sixers, and his highest score in ODI cricket is 200*. Sachin Tendulkar is awarded as the god of cricket.  

Virat Kohli and RT Ponting are in the line of top 2nd and 3rd cricketers to score most centuries in ODI with 43 and 30 hundred respectively.

SR Tendulkar (Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar) was a professional and great international batsman in Cricket history. He was born on April 24, 1973, in Mumbai. 

In his 23 years of cricket career, he broke several records and received the name “God of Cricket”.In his cricket career span from 1989- 2012, he scored 49 centuries, the highest to date.

First ODI

December 18 1989, was an unforgettable day in Indian Cricket History. The “God of cricket” Sachin Tendulkar made his first ODI debut against Pakistan.

Sachin scored his first centuries against Australia, scoring 110 in the third match of the Singer World series at Colombo in September 1994. He has achieved his 1st centuries after five years of playing his first ODI debut.

On 18th March 2012, Sachin Tendulkar played his last ODI match against Pakistan in the 2012 Asia Cup in Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur, Bangladesh. 

On this day, he scored 52 runs, and the target was 330. 

India’s victory in the league was much-needed, but the Men in Blue Indian team could not go to the finals, where Pakistan ultimately won the 2012 Asia Cup.

Jayasuriya was the former cricket captain of the Srilanka national cricket team. He was known for his aggressive batting style. He was the opening batsman and also an all-rounder in the Srilanka team.
